warning: I feel rambly today

I hope everyone had as lovely a weekend as we did here at the Stevens home! Our weather was positively delightful. Seriously, it's a tad unsettling just how lovely and springlike (or downright summerlike!) it's been here lately. Yesterday's egg hunt was conducted in shorts and t-shirts...usually they require winter coats and the kids are pulling eggs out of the piles of snow that have yet to melt.

Yep, I'm afraid that's best I could do. This rascal wasn't about to slow down for a second to let me get a decent picture.

For some reason these two slowed down for a second to compare loot, but still I didn't manage to get a very good shot. Suffice it to say, though, that they had a wonderful morning. :D

Okay, somewhere in the midst of cajoling munchkins to rise-n-shine and making breakfast and packing lunches and starting laundry and...I seem to have lost my urge to ramble. (Go ahead and cheer if you must.)

Anyway, a few things I'm looking forward to this week:

*Miss Annie turning thirteen! And she's chosen to celebrate with a big thrift shop outing. :)

*Finishing up this quarter of school. (Please, please, please let this actually happen!)

*Finally doing the taxes. (Okay, I'm not looking forward to doing them, I'm just looking forward to having them done!)

*Making a post about a couple of reading challenges I'm joining, and passing out blame for this teetering stack of books sitting beside me.

*Maybe actually finishing a book. Hey, anything's possible, right?

So, what are you looking forward to this week? (Yep, I'm still nosy.)

  1. I admit I'm a really big nerd and absolutely love to do taxes. The math and figuring-out make me all happy.

For some reason I thought Annie was about to turn 14, and then I realized that's because last April at the readathon I knew she was 12 and was really amazed she was participating so young; and then I also feel like it's been at least 2 years since last year's readathon...have we really only known each other a little over a year Debi?? It feels like so much longer than that!

  2. I love that you're nosy!!! Not much going on here at the Taylor house. Our son Marc is spending quality time with his cousins and grandparents. He took the Amtrak down their way and is having a blast. The hubby and I went on a glorious motorcycle ride yesterday...you're so right this weather is a bit unnerving as to how gorgeous it is, but we'll take it right??? Not sure what is on tap for today..probably another bike ride and then Matt (hubby) has to work nights this week, so I'll be all alone reading and writing up some reviews. Sounds exciting huh???

  3. I really want Annie's dress! (I feel like I'm constantly leaving comments coveting her wardrobe. LOL)

Things I'm looking forward to this week:
**My mom and I have the house to ourselves again, so I'll be cooking Indian food whenever the whim takes me. :D
**Tonight, we're going to watch last week's episodes of What Not to Wear and Bones (which FINALLY started again after a month!).
**I'm reading some really great books and am also impatiently eyeing (how do you spell that?!) the books that are up next.
    **My birthday's on Sunday! :D

That is all. Oh, and we got our airplane tickets! So I'll be seeing you next month! Squee!

  4. Looking forward to this week? The husband's birthday (tomorrow), less work to do than last week (the downside is less pay in two weeks), no rain in the forecast, working out with a teacher friend who is on spring break this week, continued progress organizing my art supplies, and perhaps even reading a book or two. Lots to look forward to--thanks for asking and prompting me to think of them.

  8. Amanda,
Do you love it enough to do ours? ;)

    Staci,
That sounds like a perfectly wonderful week, my dear! I hope you enjoy ever last second of it!!!

    Eva,
Mmmmm...I want to come over for Indian food! You don't mind if I just invite myself, do you? ;)
And believe it or not, I actually remembered your birthday, and have a little something for you...not it's a matter of getting my act together enough to actually get it mailed.

    Jean,
Sounds like you have a great week ahead! I just invited myself to Eva's for Indian food...can I now invite myself to yours to watch you organize your art supplies? I'm not kidding. :)

    Ana,
Annie's birthday is the 8th. And I will definitely tell her what you said about her style...it will make her day! :D

    Pat,
Well, I just sound younger than I am because I didn't have my kids until I was already old. :)

    Chris,
I know...13...it just doesn't seem possible! (Her birthday is Thursday. Which means I ought to wrap her presents one of these days, huh?)
